IFL Youth Halaqah

Please join us this Saturday January 28th, 2012 after Isha for our next Youth Halaqah!

Purity: The Key to Salah

InshaAllah we will begin a series over the next several weeks regarding some of the details surrounding our prayer. We will begin by learning about the importance of ritual purity (Taharah) in Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The key to Paradise is Prayer, and the key to Prayer is ablution (wudoo)" (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hasan). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took care to teach us the details of preparing ourselves - physically and spiritually - for our prayers. Many Muslims have never taken the time to understand ritual purity and hence many mistakes are made in this regard. We will take time to understand the basics of purity so that we prepare for our prayers in the manner of our Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). We hope to see you there!

IFL Youth Halaqah: Rescheduled

Assalamu Alikom,

The Youth Halaqah from last week has been rescheduled for this Saturday January 14th after Isha, inshaAllah between 7:00 - 8:00!

In case you forgot what the topic was here it is:
"Loan unto God a goodly loan. Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf, you shall find it with God, as better and richer in reward." [Al-Muzzammil 73:20.]
Please join us for our next IFL Youth Halaqah about: "Spending in the Way of Allah!" Charity in Islam is a comprehensive idea. We will talk about how to spend for the sake of Allah with everything we have. Understanding the details and Islamic rulings about charity is critical because it can lead to rewards that go on long after you have left this world. We will talk about specifically how we can spend our money, time and effort in the most effective way. We will also, inshaAllah, talk about the relationship between charity and developing a true Islamic personality. It should be an interesting discussion; we hope you can join us!

IFL Youth Halaqah

Assalamu Alikom,

Come join us this Saturday after Isha for our next youth Halaqah!

"...and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward." (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:35, interpretation of the meaning)

The next topic will be "A life of remembrance: Examining the role of Thikr in our lives" and will be a continuation of the last halaqah.
Last time we met, we spoke about the importance of engaging in the act of self-development and purification (tazkiyyah). We talked about coming to the decision that Jannah is the most important goal of our lives and that we should reset our focus in life to worshiping and drawing closer to God.
Thikr (often translated as "remembrance") is one of the best ways we will ever accomplish that. One of the many tools that we have in the constant work of self-development, thikr is a major Qur'anic concept. It is not an exaggeration to state that if you take time to correctly understand and increase thikr in your life, the implications are life-changing.
Hope to see you there!

Sisters' Halaqah

It is finally time for our 2nd Halaqah MashaAllah! Please join us this upcoming Saturday (Oct. 22nd) at 7 PM to speak about

We hope to see as many of you as possible InshaAllah.

***THIS HALAQAH IS FOR SISTERS ONLY***

IFL Youth Halaqah

It's time for our next youth halaqah! Come join us from 6-7 pm this Saturday (October 15) InshaAllah!

Our topic will be: "The Process of Self-Development" (Tazkiyyah).

Did you know that true success in life only comes through a commitment to self-development - its in the Qur'an! Why not take an hour to improve our understanding of the concept? There is no better time than NOW to rededicate ourselves & improve our connection to our purpose in life.

Our goal this weekend is to learn (or be reminded of) principles that can strengthen our relationship with Allah and improve our overall character. May Allah make it easy for us to do so. Don't miss it!

IFL Youth Halaqah

Assalamu Alikom,
The next youth halaqah will be Saturday, September 24th between Mahgrib and Isha. This is a topic you don't want to miss!!

Topic: Lessons from "The Khutbah of Shaytan"

In ayah 22 of Surah Ibraheem, we are informed about an amazing occurrence - Iblees himself giving a khutbah! Not the type of sermon that we listen to on Friday, but something much different! We can learn so much from what the Qur'an mentions about these final words of the one whom Allah called in several places our "sworn enemy". We will discuss and seek to benefit from this ayah and others, and will touch on several important subjects ranging from the history of man, how to actualize our belief in the Day of Judgement, and taking responsibility for our actions, insha Allah. Hopefully, if we understand his khutbah now, we will be spared from hearing it in the next life. We encourage you to read the ayah (or the entire surah if possible) reflect upon it and come prepared!

Hope you all can make it!!!
